Privacy notice

Schoolhaus helps parents and caregivers plan homeschooling and keep learning records. Adults create accounts and enter information about their students. Children do not need their own Schoolhaus accounts.

Information we handle

Adult account information includes sign-in details, family memberships, and invitations. If you request a beta invite, we keep the email address you submit so we can follow up. Family records can include student names, photos, grades, school years, lessons, attendance, assessments, work samples, journal notes, library items, and reporting locations. We also handle basic request and security information needed to run the service. Unfinished drafts saved on a device may stay in that device’s browser storage.

How we use it

We use this information to show the family’s plans and records, save uploaded work, generate exports and reports, secure accounts, handle support requests, and maintain the service. If an adult connects an AI assistant to Schoolhaus, the assistant can receive the family records and perform the actions that connection permits. Adults can disconnect access in Settings. We do not sell student information or use it for advertising.

Who helps operate Schoolhaus

Clerk handles adult sign-in and family memberships. Neon stores records, beta invite requests, and private attachments. Vercel hosts the web app and processes requests. Resend delivers beta invite request emails, and Cloudflare forwards mail addressed to beta@schoolhaus.app to our inbox. These providers process information to run Schoolhaus. A connected assistant is chosen and controlled by the adult; its own provider may handle information sent through that connection under its terms.

Access, corrections, and deletion

Adults in a family can view and edit its records. Settings provides a family export. Removed entries stay in Recently deleted until restored or the family workspace is deleted. A family owner can request deletion of the workspace in Settings; access is locked while the deletion job removes family records, attachments, and the family space. Adults can delete their personal sign-in account. Shared family records remain available to other adults; a sole family administrator must first delete that workspace or transfer ownership. If you need help accessing, correcting, exporting, or deleting information, email us.

Backups and retention

Active records remain while the family keeps them in Schoolhaus. Operator-controlled recovery copies may retain removed information for up to 14 days after a deletion while those copies expire. Exports downloaded by an adult are under that adult’s control. Service providers may retain operational logs and infrastructure copies under their own retention policies. Drafts saved only in a browser are removed by clearing that browser’s site data.
